A prescription treatment, Metrogel is specifically meant to deal with your rosacea problems. They make various claims about its abilities and your needs, and they claim it will kill off the bacteria that is generally known to cause rosacea with its redness, bumps, swelling, etc. Unlike a chemical peel, you don’t have to pay quite as much for it among other things. So that has attracted quite a few customers who have suffered from a great deal of rosacea.

The problem is that Metrogel often causes many of the side effects and problems that you would suffer if you suffer from rosacea in general. It can cause the redness, irritation, bumps, peeling, sun sensitivity, easy flushing, and otherwise that you would associate with rosacea, which is really ironic to be honest. It is just a milder form of a chemical peel in that way.

This formula does work. There is no question about that. It kills off bacteria. But if you are suffering the same problems, whether it’s because of the disease or the treatment, it still leaves you with a serious problem to say the least. Understandably enough, there are quite a few people who don’t actually want to deal with this problem. Therefore, they look to other options, and more recently they are finding them. We hope you choose this other path.

Consumer Reviews on Metrogel

  1. Barbara Says:

I have used Metrogel successfully. The rosacea has diminished considerably, to the point where I hardly have any breakouts at all. I use it once a day in the morning, one bead of clear gel spread over the area below my forehead, and another bead spread on my forehead, in conjunction with one oral dose of 50 mg doxycycline capsule. Even with pharmacy benefit coverage, I still pay over $60 per tube, but the tube lasts about 6 months. I have not found any side effects, but I use foundation with SPF 15 anyway. Plus drinking more clear fluids seems to have helped. Hydration.
